Game description: The English Minnits is an adventure game
that is intended for children learning English as an additional language
between the ages of 10-13. It was originally developed for children with
special needs and has been funded by the National Agency for Special Needs
Education and Schools (SPSM in Swedish). However, since the game follows the
national curriculum, many schools have chosen to use this game as a supplement
to traditional teaching materials. The game includes more than 6,000 usable
phrases that students use to solve the main problem affecting the Kingdom of
minutiae. The game is entertaining and educational. It has been specially
developed to stimulate the acquisition by the student of the word, memory and
knowledge of the English language. With the help of attractive graphics, clear
voice instructions and challenging missions, the game is estimated to provide
25 hours of playing time. THE HISTORY Minnits and dragons lived peacefully
together. Were not friends, but they were not enemies. Then the railroad came -
some Minnits liked but others were not so sure. Dragons were absolutely sure -
they hated! The railroad had destroyed the environment in which they used to
roam freely with the result that they are now, nervous, angry ... and very
dangerous! In order to solve the problem of Minnits need a hero, someone to
rescue them from the current chaos and dragons. This hero is called wheezing.
HOW IT WORKS The English Minnits is an adventure game based question. The
player assumes the role of Wheeze - brave hunter dragons. The player learns
English listening and following instructions and participating in hundreds of
dialogues and perform the tasks asked to do so. The student learns to use
English in everyday situations. The English Minnits has been developed for
non-native speakers who need to learn English. ADVANTAGES No ads, no blood and
no bad words. Studies have shown that children learn English to play Minnits
"inadvertently". As the focus is on coping with everyday situations
and approach of listening and learning, The Minnits is the perfect complement
to other language learning material. As the game follows the national
curriculum is used by many schools. Studies show that not only are well engaged
students, but the teacher is also provided with an exciting and motivating
lesson. PLAY AT HOME If you want to play at home - and many already do -
there's a private version. The advantages of playing at home are many. For
students who have come a bit further in their learning, The Minnits provides
additional stimulus to develop their skills. For those who need a little extra
support, the game offers a more exciting environment in which to practice their
skills. Another advantage is that the modern day Minnits uses only English. The
dialogues have been developed on the basis of the English language used today.
The idea behind this is to teach children a language to help them deal with
situations of all 'English' days.
