Although these features are designed to delete the message or image BBM chat view of the recipient, do not prevent recipients capturing an image of the contents by taking a screenshot or using an image capture device. Retracting a message after it has been read by the recipient will remove the message from BBM chat view, but not affect copies of the message that the recipient may have done before message being retracted.
